Google Analytics Opt-Out

Description

This plugin provides an Opt-Out functionality for Google Analytics by setting a cookie that prevents analytics.js or gtag.js to collect data. The new GDPR rules requires an opt-out.

Works perfectly together with the Google Analytics by MonsterInsights Plugin. However the plugin is not necessary to configure the opt-out feature. Just enter your UA- or GA-Code manually. That’s it!

The free and the pro version have now been merged together. So you now can have the option to activate a banner, too! Enjoy!

Screenshots

  • The Opt-Out link can be added with the Opt-Out block in WordPress new block editor (that came with version 5.0).

  • If you're using the classic editor, click this little button to add the shortcode.

How do I block Google Analytics beforehand with this plugin? The first time you visit Google Analytics has already tracked your visit. So I believe this plugin is not GDPR compliant! Because I am not sure if my assumptions above are correct I have changed the number of stars from 1 to 3. The plugin is great because of its simplicity.

Great and helpful plugin! Only after installing version 2.1.2, all pages, front end and back end, show a warning that a higher PHP version is required (my site runs on an older PHP version), so I could not even uninstall this plugin, had to delete it through FTP (and downgrade to an older version from backup).

Easy to use but not helpful for multi lingual pages yet. Will you change that and add input fields for every language?

I love this plugin. Simple and easy solution for Google Analytics opt-out. 🙂
