Wappend adds a configurable floating WhatsApp chat button — a click-to-chat contact widget for customer support and sales — with privacy-friendly aggregate click statistics and automatic analytics events.

Installation

Copy the “wappend” folder into “wp-content/plugins”.
Activate Wappend from the Plugins screen.
Open Settings > Wappend.
Configure the phone number, message, position, size, and visibility.

FAQ

Do I need a WhatsApp Business account?: No. Wappend works with both a personal WhatsApp number and a WhatsApp Business number. Enter the number in international format (for example +393331234567) under Settings > Wappend and turn the switch on.
What happens when a visitor clicks the button?: The visitor is taken to WhatsApp (the app on mobile, or web.whatsapp.com/WhatsApp Desktop on a computer) with a chat already open to your number, optionally with the pre-filled message you configured.
Can I use a different WhatsApp number for different pages, departments, or operators?: Not in Wappend Free, which uses a single WhatsApp number across the whole site. Assigning multiple numbers or departments to specific pages is available in Wappend Pro.
Can I hide the button on specific pages or show it only during business hours?: Wappend Free does not include page exclusions or time-based scheduling; the button follows the same position, delay, and visibility rules everywhere it is enabled. Custom schedules and URL exclusions are available in Wappend Pro.
Does Wappend track my visitors?: No. Wappend only stores an aggregate daily click count (total, last 7 days, last 30 days); it never stores IP addresses, visitor identities, phone numbers, or message contents. If gtag or dataLayer are already present on your site, Wappend also emits a “wappend_click” event for your existing Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager setup, without installing any tracking script of its own.
